Need A Parking Space? Look In Your Hand

In the NPR article “Need A Parking Space? Look In Your Hand” (2011), Richard Gonzales shows the public an app project where San Francisco drivers can see available parking spaces and how much the space costs. First, R. Gonzales demonstrates the frustrations for search a parking space and explain how San Francisco is trying to help the public with the technology. In the topic of Demand-Based Parking Prices he explains how the app works in San Francisco, the pricing structure and the name of the app, SFpark. After, he shows the cities which are following suit from San Francisco app. Richard Gonzales concludes with an important point which is the distraction that the smartphone app could be to drivers who were supposed to keep their eyes on the road, but says the city officials are trying to downplay that risk.

Hello

Hello Level 3!!!

My name is Lienne, but you can call me Lilly. I'm really happy to be in State College. It is my first time here and I'm with my husband. My husband is doing his L.L.M program.

I'm from Brazil. I was born in Brasília, the capital of Brazil and my native language is portuguese. My husband and I now live in State College and we are having great time here, we have a lot of new friends from Mexico, Japan, South Corea, Africa, Chile, Colombia and Saudi Arabia and we are always making new friends. I love spending time being outside, going to the movies, cooking, making dinner to friends and going to new restaurants. Another passion is traveling, so my husband and I always travel to other cities when we have time.

I came to State College to accompany my husband and to study English, I want to improve my English. I graduated in English ten years ago, so I forgot a good part because I haven't been in touch with English for many years, just practicing in trips. After the course, maybe I will start the L.L.M Program or maybe start another course at Penn State University or Berkeley University.
